:Various tools have been used in the classroom to enhance learning. I would like to gather which tools are being used and have a potential to be used in the classroom. Please take time to read the following list, and add any tool/site you know or are using for education or training. This list will provide us with useful information for the future usage. Smartboard: The touch-sensitive display connects to your computer and digital projector to show your computer image. You can then control computer applications directly from the display, write notes in digital ink and save your work to share later.
Mimio Interactive Bar: This small device mounts vertically or horizontally to a surface (typically a whiteboard) and turns the surface to which it is affixed into an interative surface much like a Smart board through calibrating the area with an infra red signal. Lightweight and highly portable, this device is accompanied by software that contains many of the same offerings - tools and resources - as the Smart board, but is a fraction of the price. (Cindy KK)
Wiimote Whiteboard: You can create a whiteboard with a Wii Remote ($40), and an Infra-red light pen. I have all of the stuff to set one up and it works, but it takes quite a bit of tweaking to really use it. (Kelsey)
Flip Video: Small, handheld video cameras that run on AA batteries, hold about an hour of footage and cost lest than $150 each. The best part is that they have a USB plug that flips out and you can plug the camera right into the computer for editing, posting and burning to disk. (Kelsey)
Elmo-Document Camera: This is an updated version of an overhead projector and an excellent tool to use in a regular classroom or ITV setting. You can use it to show a diagram in a book, work math problems, display medications, surgical instruments, parts of respiratory equipment. (Kelly)
Sympodium: to save notes, access any website or multimedia file and project work onto a large screen. (Amal)
Graphic table: for every use and any budget. It comes with a pen and mouse to draw, paint, edit digital photos and even write in your own handwriting right on your computer screen. This pen tablet is perfect for digital artists, graphic designers and photo editors. (Amal)
